UPDATES

Set the default sort field and direction on your personal lists. By default, personal lists are sorted by Rank ↓. The list UI has is also more clear with labels now.

BUGS

Fixed avatar center alignment on user profile pages.
Fixed a few calendar issues with calculating the number of episodes.
Poster overflow is fixed when viewing personal lists.

Lists overview and individual lists have iCal feeds, RSS feeds, and CSV exports. The 3 icons are in the top right of the page.

UPDATES

Header search query and type now default to your current search results. This makes it quicker to adjust your search. Don’t forget, / is a keyboard shortcut to the search box.
Watched progress displays the total time watched in the sentence next to the play count.

BUGS

Monthly calendar label uses the correct month now if the first day in the grid actually started in the previous month.

Premieres and New Shows iCal feeds correctly apply any advanced filters that are set. This is coming soon to the TV shows and Movies iCal feeds too.

UPDATES

Popular TV shows and movies use a better algorithm to sort things.
Item counts added to the user history, collection, progress, ratings, lists, and network sections.
Sort specific user collections and ratings (i.e. choose the movie, show, or episode type) by runtime, popularity, percentage, and votes.
Watchlists and personal lists can be sorted by popularity. Note that only shows and movies currently have popularity, so other types will be listed at the bottom.

Your watchlist can be ranked with a custom order. Watched and collected stats are also displayed on your watchlist now.
Hide Ended/Canceled TV shows from your watchlist and custom lists.
Fade and hide Uncollected items in the TV, movie, list sections. This is useful to combine the Uncollected and Watched fading which leaves unwatched items in your collection as visible.
More accurate Listed label in the filter menu under fade since this fades items on any list.
Quick icons added to the text only calendar.

BUGS

Fixed an issue with extra episodes being marked watched when clicking Watch remaining in the add to history question.
Editing a spoiler comment will correctly retain the spoiler setting.
Calendar filters work correctly on the text only calendar now.
Scrolling issue with the calendar filter menu getting covered up.

Medium sharing added, allowing you to auto post your Trakt.tv comments to your blog. Connect your Medium account here.
Auto share your Trakt.tv comments with your Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Medium accounts. This can be turned on or off on the website when you post a new comment. Connect apps will use your sharing settings.

BUGS

Better check in sharing indicators with ON/OFF text.

The rank number was getting cut off when viewing a list.
Fixed background image and posters when viewing list comments.
Fixed twitter sharing to better cap the tweet at 140 characters.

UPDATES

New anticipated TV shows and movies sections that displays the most anticipated items based on the number of lists the item appears on. VIP members can also use advanced filtering in these sections.
New setting added for the watch/collected icons. By default, it will ask you when you watched or collected the item (see August 18). You can now choose to skip this question and quickly add right now or using the release date. If you choose one of these options, you can long press (click and hold) the button to still get the specific date question.
Dashboard upcoming schedule now includes any movies on your watchlist that are coming out soon.

BUGS

Fixed an issue where the trending count was incorrectly high due to an incorrect scrobbling implementation in some apps.
Fixed date formatting on the network activity dashboard section.
Removed duplicate episodes from the calendar.
Improve word wrapping in the dashboard upcoming schedule.

Wikisimpsons links added for all seasons and episodes of The Simpsons.
Receive an email notification when anyone follows you. This is auto enabled for new users and existing users can opt in from your notifications page.

VIP UPDATES (more info)

CSV export added to your watched history page. Click the CSV icon and the file will download. The export will respect the type (all, movies, or episodes) and will also allow you to filter for specific items too (click the view plays from any summary page). We are also planning to add CSV export to other user sections like collection, ratings, and comments.

BUGS

Fixed 500 error when sorting movie watched history by release date in some cases.

Movies will indicate if there are during or after credits scenes. We look for the duringcreditsstinger and aftercreditsstinger tags from TMDB. We’re also working on a way to have it play the scene from YouTube in a video popup.
VIP members paying by Stripe can update their credit card info more easily from the VIP page now.

BUGS

Hiding shows from your progress page was sometimes not working due to a caching issue.
x00 episodes are removed from the calendar. These are incorrectly added specials from TVDB.

Added Netflix as a supported scrobbler which works with the updated Netflix website user interface via a Chrome browser extension.
VIP refresh button added to all person summary pages.
Person summary pages will start using specific fanart featuring that person. Fanart will continue to fill in as data refreshes.

Advanced movie filters were missing the time period (weekly, monthly, all) in some views.
Fixed the episode count when using a text only calendar view.
Clean up some styles on the text only calendar view.
Fixed confirmation message overlap issues on pages with side navigation.
Reduced user stats to fit better at smaller resolutions.
Last comment box on your user profile indicates the item that was commented on.

UPDATES

When you click the watch or collect button (from a summary page or grid view) it will ask how you watched or collected it. Choose right now, on release date, or an other date. All show, season, episode, and movie pages support these new popups. This helps accurately fill your history and avoid having a bunch of updates lumped together. The on release date is especially handy when marking all your old TV shows and movies. Read more about this feature.

View any user’s liked lists from their lists page. Dropdown on the left side has new filter options.

Spoiler comments won’t display as the last comment on a user profile.
Some iPad display fixes with the top navigation.
Progress skips shows with no aired episodes.
Progress next episode chooses more accurately. For example, if you watched the most recently aired episode, but not at 100% for the show, it should correctly choose an older episode now.

UPDATES

Quick list button (☰ in any grid layout) is now a popup menu with your Watchlist + any personal lists you have created. This makes it way quicker to manage list associations without leaving the page you’re on. If you don’t have any personal lists, the ☰ button will simply add/remove from your watchlist.

Suggested people to follow sections appears on your dashboard if any of your facebook or twitter connections are on Trakt.tv, but you’re not following them yet. This section can be hidden from your settings if you’re not interested.

Suggest people to follow based on your social connections.

Upcoming schedule on your dashboard has its own setting for the the calendar start day instead of sharing with the calendar.
When adding an additional play from the summary page (clock icon) it will default to the current date and time.

TV show banner images will fallback to TVDB if Fanart.tv doesn’t have one yet.

UPDATES

On deck section added to your dashboard. This displays the 6 next shows you might want to watch. This is basically a quick snapshot of your progress page and you can choose the sorting in your settings.

Upcoming schedule on your dashboard can filtered by all your shows (default), season premieres, or new shows. Set the filter in your settings.
Hide the On deck or Upcoming schedule sections from your dashboard if you’d like. Hide these in your settings.
Upcoming schedule on your dashboard will apply the calendar start day setting and hide specials.
Next episode on the progress page is a little smarter if you aren’t at 100% for that show yet. For example, if a show has 10 episodes and you only watched episode 10, it would previously indicate Check back next season. Now, it will instead indicate 1x01 as the next to watch. This is useful for shows where you might jump around and not watch sequentially such as Vice.

For shows and seasons, clicking on a partially completed watched or collected button will bring up a new prompt asking what you’d like to do. You can add the remaining episodes or remove all episodes. This works on any summary page or grid view.

Movie and episode summary pages display the play count for the item, a link to view all plays, and the date you last watched it.

Choose a specific date you collected a movie or episode. On the collect button, click the icon on the right side and specify the exact date and time you collected it.
The specific watched and collected buttons will default to the first aired date instead of today. This makes back filling your data more accurate.
Ratings distribution added to summary pages.
Ratings hearts are colorized depending on the percentage.

Comment blocks include the user’s rating in the top right if they’ve rated it.
Expanded seasons on your watched progress page will use a blue collection icon to indicate if the episode is collected, but not watched. Similarly the collection progress will use a blue watched icon if watched, but not collected.

Adding new comments is easier now with inline comment boxes on any movie, show, season, or episode page. It’s also updated to automatically turn into a review if your comment is 200 words or more.
Edit and delete your own comments, up to 1 week after you post them.
Reply to any comment by clicking the Reply link under any comment or by using the form at the bottom when viewing a comment.

Lots of progress page updates. Sort by recent activity, most completed, least completed, most episodes left, least episodes left, most time left, least time left, recently aired, previously aired, and title. Filter to hide completed (100%), not completed (< 100%), or ended status. For performance reasons, results have 60 per page.
Hide shows from your watched or collected progress. Shows can be restored from your settings.
Default search looks for movies and TV shows.

Fade out watched, collected, watchlisted, or rated items from various pages in the site including the TV, Movie, Calendar, and most User pages. Look for the eye icon.
Search results default to searching movies and shows (and not people) since that is more common. You can still filter to search people directly of course.
Search results add more weight to title matches which should improve the order of the results. It also uses popularity metrics to break any ties.
Rating percentage added to search results. This also lets you rate items if you are logged in.
Android and iPhone can save shortcuts to view the website as a full screen web app. (Experimental)

More easily import new movies and TV shows using the Import Movie and Import Show footer links. Movie info is pulled in from TMDB. TV shows use TMDB for top level info (title, actors, aliases) and TVDB for season and episode info. Also make sure TMDB has the correct external TVDB ID so they link up correctly. Lastly, keep in mind both databases cache their data, so it might take several hours until Trakt can pull in a brand new item.

Canadian shows (i.e. Bitten) will have improved date/time accuracy and should display better on the calendar. A canadian show will need a refresh to update the date and times (should automatically happen over the next few days also).

Optimized the browser TV show caching and added a loading message to the bottom of the screen when it’s updating.
Adding shows and movies to your watchlist will now correctly show up on the calendar.

Choose a specific date you watched a movie or episode. On the watched button, click the icon on the right side and specify the exact date and time you watched it. You can also use this to add multiple past viewings.
